File Recovery Software for Lost Recordings

What can File Recovery Hero file recovery software restore?

Short answer

Only photos, video and audio whose data still exists: File Recovery Hero finds deleted entries and recognizable media structures on stable exFAT, NTFS and FAT16/FAT32 devices or uncompressed images, then exports usable results to another drive. It does not scan APFS, HFS+, ext4, encrypted storage or physically damaged cards. Scanning is free; saving costs 50 EUR once.

The situation

Your recordings are missing. Start by identifying the loss.

File Recovery Hero is file recovery software for lost photos, video and audio on macOS and Windows. It focuses on stable, readable exFAT, NTFS and FAT16/FAT32 devices and supported uncompressed disk images. The software searches for remaining file information and media data, assesses candidates and exports suitable results away from the source. It does not recover every kind of file and cannot promise success before scanning.

01 / Diagnose

Work out what actually disappeared

Missing photo sequences might include JPEG, PNG, HEIC or camera RAW; video shoots may use MP4, MOV or MXF, and audio recordings can include WAV, FLAC and MP3. These formats are selectable in both desktop versions. Selecting an extension does not establish support for every camera, codec or type of damage. Match the recording format and storage source before planning a scan.

Recovery software works with what remains on the device. A deleted directory entry may still reveal a recording's name, size or position; other candidates come from recognizable media structures. The software needs to combine those clues. When parts are missing or data has been overwritten, assigning a new filename does not replace the lost content. A visible RAW preview is not necessarily the complete photograph either.

Check the last known path, trash and backups without writing to the original device.

02 / Protect the source

Preserve the best recovery chance

  1. 1

List missing recordings with their format, approximate size and, where relevant, expected clip duration.

  2. 2

Confirm that the source is stable, readable exFAT, NTFS or FAT16/FAT32 storage or a supported uncompressed IMG, DD, RAW or BIN disk image.

  3. 3

Read the offered preview build's release and activation notices before using the appropriate desktop version.

  4. 4

Prepare a physically different drive for exports and inspect recovered recordings before putting them back into use.

Avoid this now

Do not confuse media recovery with restoring arbitrary documents. PDF, Word and Excel files are not in File Recovery Hero's format selection. A thumbnail, a high confidence rating or a completed scan does not justify a success guarantee. Never install software on the affected medium or approve formatting simply because the operating system offers it.

03 / Choose the method

Match the tool to the source

For stable, readable exFAT, NTFS and FAT16/FAT32 or uncompressed IMG, DD, RAW and BIN images.

Unconfirmed exports are marked .UNVERIFIED.

The application is not an online recovery service and does not upload your media for analysis. Direct scanning of APFS, HFS+, ext4, encrypted phone storage or physically damaged cards is outside its scope. Individual damaged files are not scan sources either. The download is available before purchase; scanning and recovery require the license key from the purchase email. This page does not promise free unrestricted access.

04 / Verify

Check the recovered content, not just its name

The recovery report links each exported file to its validation status and any warnings. Compare the output with your list: is the entire photo sequence present, can the RAW file be developed, and does the clip contain picture and sound through to the end? Keep treating .UNVERIFIED files as unconfirmed. Check the full content and make another backup before using a recording again in an edit or archive.

Keep the source until two verified copies exist. One working preview is not enough.
